Why is ShareASale upgrading to Awin?
ShareASale is transitioning to Awin to unify operations under a single global affiliate network. This change gives you access to Awin’s tools, advanced features to support your affiliate marketing efforts, and a scalable solution that meets your evolving needs when it comes to running an affiliate program.
When will advertisers upgrade from ShareASale to Awin?
Starting at the end of Q2, we will begin automatically upgrading all existing ShareASale advertisers and publishers to the Awin platform. Good news, no action is needed from you to get started. Unlike a traditional migration, this doesn’t require any technical work or heavy lifting on your part – it’s a true upgrade! You’ll receive detailed instructions and timelines in advance.
What should I know about the upgrade process?
- If you have not already, between now and January 5, please verify your email the next time you log into the ShareASale platform. This will ensure you receive our emails guiding you through the upgrade. It’s important to note that, after January 6, you won’t be able to use the platform until you’ve completed the verification, so we recommend ticking this off step off as soon as possible.
- A few months’ prior to your upgrade, you’ll start receiving emails from us to get you prepped and ready for the move. This will include training materials, access to live webinars and more.
- When the time comes to upgrade, we will email you letting you know the process has started. And once your new Awin account is ready, you will receive another email inviting you to access the Awin platform. Exciting! Once you’ve logged into your new account, you’ll get a helpful walkthrough of the platform to immediately take advantage of all the enhanced features now available at your fingertips.
- Best of all, you don’t need to install new tracking and move your account settings, we’ll automatically switch that over for you. Your publishers will also be moving in tandem with your upgrade, ensuring no gaps during this transition.
- And last but not least, you’ll continue to receive best practice guidance and recommendations from us as you get acclimated to Awin.
How do I start my upgrade?
No action required!
- 90 days prior to our upgrade process starting you will receive a communication drip educating you on the upgrade process and timing. Upgrades will happen in 2 week waves starting at the end of Q2.
- You will receive an email to your primary email address once your upgrade officially begins (based on the batch you are scheduled in) without you needing to take an action.
- Once your new account is ready you will be invited to your new account and you can log in and view the new account (not a required action for the upgrade to continue)
- Your tracking will then automatically switch to the Awin account
When will I no longer be able to access my ShareASale account?
Once your account is upgraded, you will still be able to access SAS reporting, edit/void transactions and manage your account balance. You will not be able to make any changes to your ShareASale account settings or changes to publisher relationships.
Once the ShareASale platform closes at the end of 2025, you will be notified and at that time you will no longer be able to access the platform.
I already have an account on Awin, how will the upgrade work for me?
We are currently defining what the upgrade process will look like for our dual platform customers; you will receive more information from us around the upgrades for existing Awin customers in Q1.
In the interim, you do have the option to encourage your publishers to join your existing Awin program and we recommend that any pending ShareASale publishers be invited to your Awin program.
Will advertiser training be provided ahead of the upgrade?
Yes. Awin’s Advertiser Success Center contains everything you need to know about the platform including self-service guides and how-to articles. You can also learn more about the Awin platform on our demo hub. We will also be hosting a series of webinars starting in 2025 to help you prepare.
The data and settings Awin will be migrating as part of the upgrade process will be:
- Active partnerships
- Tracking links & settings
- Creative assets (banners, coupons, promotions)
- Product data feeds
- Account balance
- Auto-deposit settings

Please note: Awin will also manage all publisher account upgrades. There is no need to contact your publishers or ask them to create new accounts.
How will Stores Connect work on Awin?
If you currently have Stores Connect enabled on your ShareASale program, your stores will move into a single account on Awin.
Will I need to setup an account on Awin?
No. Once your account has been upgraded you will receive an email to the primary email of your ShareASale account to access your new account. Basic account and profile information, user logins, creatives, click and sale active publishers, commission and attribution settings, and tracking will automatically your new account.
You will be notified of any settings or features that did not carry over to your new account.
When will ShareASale no longer accept new advertisers?
From March 2025 onwards, affiliates and advertisers will exclusively be able to launch on the Awin platform, allowing them to immediately benefit from all the enhanced features it offers. The exception to this date is you will still be able to continue inviting publishers to directly join your program using the Express Signup feature.
What is the latest date by which we need to upgrade our account?
At this time, a final upgrade date has not yet been confirmed. However, starting at the end of Q2, we will begin upgrading all existing ShareASale advertisers and publishers to the Awin platform.
When is the SAS platform expected to close?
We plan to close the SAS platform by the end of 2025, but we will only be doing so when all advertisers and publishers have completed their upgrade.
